The dates and venues for the Irish team selection races for this years World champs are as follows:
Sprint: 23rd April – University of Ulster, Coleraine (Irish sprint champs)
Middle: 3rd July – Vuku, Norway (Craftcup)
Long: 4th July – Vuku, Norway (Craftcup)
The Middle and Long distance selection races will be held alongside the Norwegian (possibly Danish and Swedish) selection races to be organised by Norwegian club verdal OK in similar terrain to Trondheim WOC terrains.
The selection races are the weekend following the Norwegian O-festival (25th-27th June) which is part of the 2010 Nordic tour and includes round 3 of the world cup.
Irish training sessions are being planned for the few days between the two competitions.
It is hoped that as many squad members as possible will take part in this exciting trip to Norway in the build up to WOC.
The sprint distance selection will take place at the Irish sprint champs, University of Ulster, to be hosted by NWOC. The sprint event will be planned and organised by the team that will be putting on the JK2011 sprint event.
Selection guidelines for WOC 2010 are available here.
